IIT JAM exam
is an entrance exam to get admission in IITs or IISc to pursue M.Sc (Four
Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.-Ph.D Dual Degree & other
courses. So, students
who are willing to give IIT JAM exam may first have to fill the online
application form available at the JAM official website. After filling the
application form, candidates are required to pay the form fees. After this the
candidate is eligible to give IIT JAM examination 2018. You can get the

Note that
the candidates have to first register to the JAM official website to fill the
JAM online form. Registration requires your Name, a valid email address, a
password, and a working mobile number. Do not fill someone else’s details in
the form. All the details provided in the form should be correct, if it found
incorrect, then your form will be rejected and you will not be considered for
JAM 2018 exam. Below are the details of application form fees.
Application fees
Application
fees for IIT jam 2018 exam for males is 1500/- for General & OBC and 750/-
for SC/ ST/ PwD categories, for females form fee is 750/- (all categories) for
one test paper. For two test papers, application fee is 2100/- for males from
General & OBC and 1050/- from SC/ ST/ PwD categories. For females
application form fee is 1050/- for all categories.
Step by Step procedure for applying online
Step wise
procedure on how to fill online application form for JAM examination. There are
four steps in applying for JAM exam 2018. IIT Delhi is the organizing institute
for IIT JAM exam. Candidates will not send the hard copies of their documents
to the organizing institute except challan. They have to upload their documents
on the JAM website while filling their application form. Steps for online
application form:
Step 1. Registration at JAM website.
Step 2. Filling the application form.
Step 3. Payment of the application form fee.
Step 4. Downloading the application form.
Step 1. Registration at JAM website
A candidate
who wishes to apply for IIT JAM examination 2018 must first register to the JAM
website jam.iitd.ac.in, which asks you for your Name, a valid email address, a
working mobile number and a password. Remember that the registration details
cannot be changed later, so candidates are requested to fill in the correct
details. If the details found incorrect, then his/ her form will be rejected
and he/ she will not be considered for JAM examination. So, candidates must
verify all the details before submission. Few things that a candidate has to
keep in their mind while registering on jam website:
- Candidates name should be same as it appears on their certificates.
- Candidates must provide a valid email address, which he/ she checks frequently because all the updates regarding JAM exam 2018 will be sent via email. The candidate must not provide someone else’s email and only one candidate will be allowed to register with one email address.
- Candidates must also provide a working mobile number, as updates regarding JAM exam will also be sent through sms.
- The password have to choose a password which cannot be easily recognized by others. It should not be forgotten by the candidate, as it will be required during logging in to the JAM website.
- After getting registered on JAM website, an email containing enrolment ID will be sent to the registered email address of the candidate. Through this enrolment ID, the candidate can log in to the JAM website. enrolment ID will also be sent to registered mobile number.
Step 2. Filling the Application Form
After
logging in to the JAM wesite, the candidates need to fill the application form,
which asks for the information such as, number of test paper(s) he/she want to
appear for, city choices, date of birth, gender, parent/ guardian’s name and
mobile number, nationality, category, PwD status, percentage of marks/CGPA,
college name, etc.
After
filling all the details, the candidates have to upload the image files of
photograph and signature and it should be in .jpeg format. A scanned copy of
SC/ ST/ PwD certificates are also to be uploaded which must be in .pdf format.
Before reading
the decalaration, the candidate must checks that his/her details and the
uploaded files are correct, because after submission, the candidate cannot
change the details filled in the application form. After ensuring that there is
no errors in the form, the candidate must read the declaration and accept the
declaration before submitting the application form. After submission, the
candidate can download the application form which will be in a .pdf format.
Step 3. Payment of JAM application fees
After submitting
the form, candidates will have to make the payment for application form.
Payment can be done online through net banking/ debit card/ credit card or by
e-challan. If the candidate chooses to pay through e-challan, then the payment
will be made in cash at any branch of the bank as specified in the e-challan.
Candidates should note that the application fee is non-refundable.
Step 4. Downloading the IIT JAM application form
After the
payment is successfully made, the candidate can download the application form
which will be in .pdf format. With the submission of the form and the payment,
the candidate is now considered to be applicable for IIT JAM 2018 exam.
Now the
application process has been completed. After following all the steps, the
candidate is now applicable to appear in the IIT JAM 2018 examination.
